AIMedix Ltd — Privacy notice: medico-legal expert work
Version 5, 11 October 2026
This notice explains how AIMedix Ltd handles your personal information when Dr Gurprit Singh Pannu prepares an expert report in a legal claim.
Who we are
AIMedix Ltd is the data controller. Dr Pannu provides expert services as its director. ICO registration: ZB782332. Contact: gurprit@aimedix.co.uk.
What we hold and where it comes from
Your name, contact details and date of birth; medical and psychiatric records; information you give at any assessment; and legal documents such as witness statements. Records can also contain information about criminal offences, and about other people named in them, such as relatives and treating clinicians; this notice applies to those people too. We receive these from the solicitor instructing us, from record holders, and from you. If you attend an assessment, you do not have to answer every question, but the report may be more limited if you don't.
Why we use it
To prepare an expert report for your claim. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): our interest is in preparing accurate, consistent expert evidence in your claim efficiently. For health information, the processing is necessary for legal claims (Article 9(2)(f)).
Use of AI
Complete records are never uploaded to any cloud AI service. Only pseudonymised excerpts and notes prepared by Dr Pannu (names, dates of birth, addresses, place names and identifiers replaced with codes, and all dates removed and expressed relative to a reference date; the key never leaves his computer) are processed by an AI service (Anthropic's Claude), confidentially and under a contract that prevents their use for training AI models. Dr Pannu verifies all AI-assisted content, and all opinions in the report are his own and formed independently. No automated decisions are made about you.
Who we share it with
The instructing solicitor, the court and other parties as court rules require. A service provider acting on our behalf under contract: Anthropic (AI, pseudonymised excerpts and notes only). Our insurers or advisers if needed.
Transfers outside the UK
Anthropic stores data in the United States and may process it in other countries. These transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses in our contract with Anthropic. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards.
How long we keep it
Copies of your records are deleted when the case ends. The report and case file are kept for 6 years after the case ends, or longer for people who lack capacity.
Your right to object
You have the right to object at any time to our use of your information on the basis of legitimate interests. We may continue where the information is needed for the legal claim. Contact us at the address above.
Your other rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or restrict its use. Some rights are limited while the information is needed for legal proceedings. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please complain to us first at the address above; we will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond without undue delay. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
